Cake Pops and Cake Truffles- Video Tutorial
By Popular Demand: Cake Pops & Cake Truffles! I hope that you enjoy this video on making these adorable, sweet treats!
In this video, I'm using plain (undoctored) cake from a cake mix. As mentioned in the video, the proportions of cake to frosting that I used were: 1 8" cake layer (½ of a cake mix) to 4 T frosting. This may vary depending on the kind of cake you are using.
For the chocolate coating: 4 T shortening combined with 14 oz. candy melts. Adjust to your liking!
You are so talented,Can i also glaze the cake pops in the absence of chocolate.
Hi, I haven't tried using a glaze on cake pops. That would work on cake balls, but the cake pops on a stick would need the chocolate because of the firm shell it makes. It keeps it from sliding down the stick.
oh, tnx a lot
Is it possible to use vegetable oil instead of shortening?
Hi BeBe! Will poured fondant work just as well as the melted chocolate?
Hi Aupuella88, I'm not sure about using vegetable oil....just haven't tried that.
Jo, I don't think the poured fondant will secure it on the stick like chocolate does
Can we use semi sweet chocolate chips for coating?
Hi There, just wondering what particular frosting you used for the cake pops? Thank you :-)
can we keep the leftover chocolate in the fridge? how long can we keep it? thanks.
How long will cake pops or truffles last and how would I store them?
Hi Maryalice, I think 2-3 days at room temp. or refrigerate and use within a week.
Hi! Is the chocolocate bark and white chocoloate the same? I already have a white chocolate and i want to know if I can use it. Thank you!
