Yes, just was with most of our cake recipes (from carrot cake to almond cake , strawberry cake and more) these cake layers can be baked in advance and frozen for up to three months. To do this, bake the layers, allow to cool (we usually wrap them while still a bit warm). Wrap each layer on its own foil-wrapped cardboard cake circle. Wrap tightly with a layer of two of plastic wrap followed by aluminum foil. (If you are only freezing for a few days, the foil is optional.) When ready to thaw the layers, keep the layers wrapped and allow them to warm on the kitchen counter. We usually remove the wrapping after about 30-45 minutes. (You may have some condensation on the wrapping.) Thaw to desired amount before assembling the cake. Some cake decorators prefer to work with partially frozen cake layers as they are less fragile and easier to handle.

Yes, because of the peanut butter whipped cream filling and frosting, this cake needs to be refrigerated.

However, for best taste and texture, remove the cake from the refrigerator about two hours before serving. This will give the cake time to warm and soften.

Can you Marble a Cake too Much?

Yes, be careful not to "over marble" your cake. As fun as running the knife through the chocolate and yellow cake batter can be, be careful not to go overboard! ;0)

You'll lose your pretty marbled effect if you blend the chocolate and yellow cake batter too much.
